The goal of this five-year project was to study the role of grandparenting in China. The specific aims were: (1) to describe the scope of grandparent caregiving in China; (2) to examine factors associated with grandparent caregiving in China; (3) to evaluate the relationship between grandparent caregiving and health in China; and (4) to design measures and collect original data on the mental health of the elderly in China.
