Partisanship: A Data-Driven Learning Guide (ICPSR 324)

Data-Driven Learning Guides are a collection of instructional exercises that can be used to enhance teaching of core concepts in the social sciences. This learning guide investigates basic differences in political partisanship by demographic characteristics such as age, race, income, and gender. Research questions that can be explored using this learning guide include: whether, as people age, their political partisanship is likely to change, whether there are differences in political partisanship based on gender, whether political partisanship differs between racial groups, whether there is a relationship between income and political partisanship, and how political partisanship and voter turnout might be linked. Crosstabulation and graphs are used for the analyses.
