State-Level Presidential Election Data for the United States, 1824-1972 (ICPSR 19)

Summary:

Raw and percentagized returns for all presidential elections from 1824 to 1972 are included in this state-level data set. Data are presented for major candidates as well as the most significant minor party candidates in each election. The data were matched-merged and the parties fixed-formatted for all states in the file. There are approximately 3,400 card-image equivalents.
