State-Level Presidential Election Data for the United States, 1824-1972 (ICPSR 19)
Raw and percentagized returns for all presidential elections from 1824 to 1972 are included in this state-level data set. Data are presented for major candidates as well as the most significant minor party candidates in each election. The data were matched-merged and the parties fixed-formatted for all states in the file. There are approximately 3,400 card-image equivalents.
Data in this collection are available only to users at ICPSR member institutions. Please log in so we can determine if you are with a member institution and have access to these data files.
