Consolidated Federal Funds Report (CFFR) (ICPSR 112) RSS

Principal Investigator(s):

Located at the Bureau of the Census Web site, the Consolidated Federal Funds Report (CFFR) is a presentation of federal government expenditures or obligations in state, county, and subcounty areas of the United States. Outlying areas and the District of Columbia are included. The expenditures or obligations are for the following categories: grants, salaries and wages, procurement contracts, direct payments for individuals, other direct payments, direct loans, guaranteed or insured loans, and insurance. The CFFR Web site offers data, documentation, and reports for viewing or downloading. The data are presented in several ways: (1) viewable and downloadable summary tables for the United States and individual states, (2) publication data on federal government expenditures or obligations, (3) county aggregate files that detail item coded data at the county level for each of the 60 states and outlying areas (fixed length, no delimiter), and (4) detailed data files with item coded data at the state/county/place level for each of the 60 states and outlying areas (available as both fixed length, comma delimited and fixed length, no delimiter). The Web site also provides a link to the Federal Assistance Award Data System, which has detailed place and recipient information concerning most federal awards. CFFR data are available through ICPSR for fiscal years 1985-2000.
