Scope of Study

Summary:

This data collection was designed to study the organization and maintenance strategies of voluntary membership organizations with offices in Washington, D.C. Major areas of investigation include how groups overcome funding hurdles when first created, benefits provided to entice members to join a group, types of lobbying efforts engaged in, and characteristics of the organization's membership and structure.
