Summary: This data collection was constructed as part of an ongoing research project aimed at examining and reformulating alternative explanations of conflict in France during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Information is supplied on the characteristics of each set of participants in a violent event ("formation"), including demographic, occupational, and political variables, and on the characteristics of the event as a whole.
