Summary: This survey was conducted after the accident at the nuclear power plant at Chernobyl in the Soviet Union. Respondents were asked their opinions about nuclear power, including whether they favor or oppose more nuclear power plants in the United States, whether they would favor or oppose phasing out currently operating plants, and if they consider nuclear plants in the United States to be safer than those in the Soviet Union.
