Social Effects of Minor Tranquilizer Use: Detroit, 1981

Summary: This study examined the effects of diazapam (Valium) use on a number of social-psychological variables related to mental health. These included stress, coping, perceived performance, and quality of life. A longitudinal survey was conducted in which a heterogeneous group of persons recently prescribed diazapam was interviewed four times, six weeks apart.
