Summary: This study was conducted in 1957 in the cities of Osaka and Izumo, Japan. The respondents' opinions of Japan's national security were explored through questions eliciting views on the strength of and the need for security defense forces, Japan's rearmament, and the possible revision of the Japanese constitution to establish an army, navy, and air force.
