Peterson, R-Pa., motion to suspend the rules and pass the bill to reauthorize
the Atlantic Striped Bass Conservation Act (PL 98-613) through fiscal 2000 and
authorize $1.05 million each year to conduct annual studies and assessments of
Atlantic striped bass populations. Passed by a vote of 399 to 8. A two-thirds
majority of those present and voting (272 in this case) is required for passage
under suspension of the rules.
