Common Core of Data: Public School Districts, 1983-1984 (ICPSR 2135)
Principal Investigator(s): United States Department of Education. National Center for Education Statistics
The primary purpose of this project is to provide a listing of all local agencies providing free public elementary and secondary education in the United States and its outlying areas (American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and the Marshall Islands) for 1983-1984. It permits the educational community to draw statistically valid samples from which state or national estimates can be made and also provides a mailing list of school systems. Significant variables include name, address, county, grade span, size of system, number of schools, and standard metropolitan statistical area (SMSA) designation.
