Woman and Child Wage Earners Series

The Women and Child Wage Earners Series includes data on (1) working women living apart from their families, or "adrift", in New York City and Philadelphia, (2) married women wage earners in cotton textiles and clothing in New York City, Chicago, Philadelphia, North Carolina, and Massachusetts, (3) working women in New York City living at home, and (4) industrial workers and their families in Massachusetts, North Carolina, Chicago, and New York City. The Senate report from which these data were taken, "Report on the Condition of Women and Child Wage Earners in the U.S. in 19 Volumes, 86-104" (Washington, D.C.: Government Printing Office 1910/11), is a 19-volume study of four primary industries and various related subjects.
