Data Collection Notes:
(1) The number of cases (MCD/CCDs) varies by state. For the entire United States, there are approximately 37,500 MCD/CCDs. (2) The codebook is provided as a Portable Document Format (PDF) File. The PDF format was developed by Adobe Systems Incorporated and can be accessed with the Adobe Acrobat Reader. Information on how to obtain a copy of the Acrobat Reader is provided through the ICPSR Website on the Internet. (3) The codebook (Part 52) comprises Parts 1 and 2 of the 1970 Census Users' Guide published by the Bureau of the Census. (4) In the 1970 Census Users' Guide, this data collection is named "Fourth Count Population Summary Tape, File B."
