ABC News Bill Bradley Poll, August 1995 (ICPSR 6675)

This special topic poll sought respondents' views on the 1996 presidential election, specifically the potential candidacy of New Jersey Senator Bill Bradley. Those queried were asked to give their opinions of presidential hopefuls Senator Bill Bradley, Senate Majority Leader Bob Dole, Ross Perot, President Bill Clinton, and retired General Colin Powell. Respondents were also asked to express their desire for a third-party candidate to be on the ballot. Demographic variables include sex, age, and political party.
One or more data files in this study are set up in a non-standard format, such as card image format. Users may need help converting these files before they can be used for analysis.

Data Collection Notes:
(1) This collection has not been processed by ICPSR staff. ICPSR is distributing the data and documentation for this collection in essentially the same form in which they were received. When appropriate, hardcopy documentation has been converted to machine-readable form and variables have been recoded to ensure respondents' anonymity. (2) The codebook is provided as a Portable Document Format (PDF) file. The PDF file format was developed by Adobe Systems Incorporated and can be accessed using PDF reader software, such as the Adobe Acrobat Reader. Information on how to obtain a copy of the Acrobat Reader is provided on the ICPSR Web site. (3) A weight variable with two implied decimal places has been included and must be used in any analysis.
Sample: Households were selected by random-digit dialing. Within households, the respondent selected was the adult living in the household who last had a birthday and who was at home at the time of the interview.
