Discussion & Networking

Use this page to post questions and answers for fellow attendees. A number of specific topics are listed below. If you don't find the topic you wish to comment on, post your question/information on the General Discussion board.

Please note, if you are experiencing technical difficulties or require immediate assistance from ICPSR, please use the Help Desk. While we expect that the discussion boards will be active during the conference, answers to questions may not be immediate in nature.

ICPSR Discussion Boards

The approach is really quite simple - post responses to questions or ask questions in much the same way as if you were onsite here in Ann Arbor talking with your colleagues. We've taken the liberty of setting up a number of threads:

Just go to that link and use the comment box at the bottom of the page to add to the dialogue. If you want us to start a new thread, just email web-support@icpsr.umich.edu and send us the starting post.

Etiquette

While you can remain anonymous, we hope that you will use this opportunity to network virtually such that you will be a resource to all in the data community. Here are the rules:

  • We're using Blogger. You don't have to register or create an account with Blogger; we've enabled anonymous posting. That said, please sign your post. Professional dialogue is rather challenging when you you have to address someone with "Hey you!"

  • All posts are moderated. Because we're allowing anonymous posting, we have to have someone screen out spam.

  • ICPSR reserves the right to remove inappropriate material. We are providing these bulletin boards as a means to network and share information in a responsive nature for our community, but we will remove inappropriate content that is brought to our attention.

  • Providing links to outside sources is fine with us.

  • Please cite any quoted material appropriately.

Social Networks & ICPSR

ICPSR will be making active use of social media before, during, and after the OR meeting. You will find all of our social media outlets on the Social Networks & ICPSR page.
