            <div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" id="Summary08127">These data from the 20-, 15-, and 5-percent samples of the 1970
 Census contain population characteristics such as education, income, 
 citizenship, and vocational training. These characteristics are reported
 for minor civil divisions (MCDs) or census county divisions (CCDs).
 ICPSR has data for only 29 states. The
 data are in DUALabs, Inc. compressed format and require the use of special
software.</div>

 entire United States, there are approximately 37,500 MCD/CCDs. (2) The codebook
 is provided as a Portable Document Format (PDF) File. The PDF
 format was developed by Adobe Systems Incorporated and can be accessed with
 the Adobe Acrobat Reader. Information on how to obtain a copy of the Acrobat
 Reader is provided through the ICPSR Website on the Internet. (3) The codebook
 (Part 52) comprises Parts 1 and 2 of the 1970 Census Users' Guide published
 by the Bureau of the Census. (4) In the 1970 Census Users' Guide, this data
collection is named "Fourth Count Population Summary Tape, File B."
