<dc:description>This study contains data on 1,166 United Nations roll
call votes on the issue of colonialism by 124 member nations in the
period 1946-1967. Information is provided for the name of the session
of the United Nations in which the vote occurred (e.g., the United
Nations General Assembly Plenary session, joint committee session,
political committee session, committee on granting independence to
colonial countries, the Security Council, Trusteeship Council, the
ad hoc committee on the Palestinian Question), session number,
nature of the vote (e.g., procedural or substantive), object of
the vote, constitutional and structural implications of the issue,
category of the issue, and records of particular countries' votes.
The roll call vote is the case, and the vote of each member and
other descriptive information are the variables.</dc:description>
