Stratified national probability sample.

Stratified national (contemporary Peninsular Malaysia) probability sample survey consisting of an initial household screening interview followed by an intensive interview of all currently married women, aged 15 to 45, living in the screened households. The sample was stratified according to locality, separate samples being drawn in the five largest cities, small urban areas, and rural areas. In order to have a representative national sample, it is necessary to weight each case by its stratum weight, which is located in the last seven columns (Variable No. 437) of each record in File One.

Currently married women, aged 15 to 45, living in contemporary Peninsular Malaysia.

ICPSR also routinely creates ready-to-go data files along with setups in the major statistical software formats as well as standard codebooks to accompany the data. In addition to these procedures, ICPSR performed the following processing steps for this data collection:

  • Performed consistency checks.
  • Performed recodes and/or calculated derived variables.
  • Checked for undocumented or out-of-range codes.
