Data Release

Once all processing work and quality reviews have been completed, the data collection is ready for release to the research community through the DSDR and ICPSR Web sites.

DSDR staff inventory the archival version of the data collection and produce two additional copies of the machine-readable files, one of which is stored at an off-site facility. Once the data collection has been added to the DSDR and ICPSR Web sites, the data depositor is notified by one of our staff members.

The release of a DSDR study is announced immediately on the ICPSR Web site and via an electronic mailing list.

Data depositors should instruct researchers who are interested in their data collection to visit the DSDR Web site, where they will be able to read the study description, browse the accompanying documentation, and download the files.
